Facebook “meet-ups”

We all have reconnected with “friends” from camp, high school, etc and we love it.  That is why we keep going back, looking for more “friends” and getting a quick snipet into their lives.  I say “quick” for a reason.  I, personally, have loved catching up with so many from my past.  I love that I am up to speed on their lives, it gives me energy and reminiscing about memories from the past can be fulfilling.  That’s just it though — I want to it end there — with the Facebook updates, status reports, family photo updates, etc.  I don’t want to have dinner or really even talk on the phone with most of my long lost “friends”.  So Facebook is superficial, really.  Or maybe, I am.  Probably both, as my need/desire to talk offline or…freak…have dinner, illicits a more visceral reaction — thoughts?
