Two Weeks off

Two Weeks off — I can’t remember the last time I had 2 consecutive weeks off. I can’t really count maternity leave as this is not “off-time” — only on, on, on and burnt out. How I craved a nap… So these past two weeks have been … ok, everyone expects me to say “amazing” “incredible” etc…yes they were those things, but they were also exhausting (yes, how difficult it must have been skiing from 9 am - 3 pm for a week, and out for 3 meals a day…), and around-the-clock family time with 2 high energy awesomely sweet kids and loving “what do you want to do next?” husband — and relaxing — afternoon movies, early dinner and lots of sleep! Biggest find of the trip - digital alarm clocks for the kids - now they know not to leave their beds until 7 am. Why didn’t I get these years ago???  So, what did I learn…I learned that I am lucky to have a job that I love, an apartment that rocks, a high energy “up for anything and everything” amazing family, and a city that is vibrant, exciting and has so many activities for any age and any time of day…gotta go now as after our early am swim, we played tennis and now we have to hit wollman rink before it closes…all in winter in NYC.  Gotta go. xoxo
